Families interested in enrolling their kindergartener in the Sioux Falls School District's Spanish Immersion program are invited to attend an upcoming information meeting at Sonia Sotomayor Elementary. These sessions are designed for families new to Spanish Immersion who want to learn about the program.
During the meeting, families will:
Learn how the one-way Spanish Immersion model works at Sonia Sotoamyor
Hear an overview of how students learn core subjects - such as math, reading, and science - in Spanish
See examples of student work
Ask questions and speak with current families and staff
Meeting Dates:
Monday, December 1st, from 2-2:45 pm
Monday, December 15th, from 5:30-6:15 pm
Wednesday, December 17th, from 2-2:45 pm
Spanish Immersion is open to incoming kindergarten families across the District and surrounding communities. All immersion teachers are fluent Spanish speakers, and the program continues through middle and high school for families who choose to stay on the pathway to bilingualism.
