From football/futbol themed fun to smiles all around, it was the perfect way to start this exciting journey into kindergarten. We’re so proud to welcome the Class of ‘39 and can’t wait for all the learning, growing, and teamwork ahead!
Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event so special. The future looks bright for our Lobos!

This month, we celebrate the incredible impact music has on our students every day. From building creativity and confidence to strengthening teamwork and self-expression, music plays a powerful role in education.
A special shoutout to our amazing music team—Mrs. Sander, Mrs. Tiedeman,
Mr. Jensen and Mrs. Sip—thank you for inspiring our students and bringing the joy of music into our school!
We encourage everyone to support our music programs and take a moment to ask students about what they’re learning. You might just hear something amazing!

We have many jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and other items waiting to be reunited with their owners. Families are invited to stop by and take a look!
Please encourage your student to check the Lost & Found, or feel free to stop in and look through the items the next time you are at school.
Thank you for helping us return these items to their homes. 😊

4th Grade Water Festival Field Trip
Our 4th graders had a great time at the Sioux Empire Water Festival at the University of Sioux Falls last Tuesday!
Students explored interactive exhibits and hands-on activities that taught them about water conservation, aquatic life, wetlands, and water safety. It was a fun and meaningful way to learn how we can all help protect one of our most important natural resources.
Check out some highlights from their day!

Dear SSE Families,
Parent-Teacher Conferences are here! This is such a meaningful time for families and teachers to connect and support our students’ success. It also means some very long days (and evenings!) for our amazing teachers and staff.
Each year, our wonderful PTO provides snacks and meals during conference week to help keep our teachers fueled and feeling appreciated. We would love your help in making this possible!
If you would like to contribute, you can:
Send a donation via Venmo to
@SoSoPTO
Drop off cash or a check at the SSE office (please label it “PTO – Conference Meals”)
No amount is too small—every contribution helps us show our teachers how much we value their time, dedication, and care for our students. A warm meal and a few extra snacks truly make a difference during these long evenings.
Thank you for partnering with us to support the incredible staff at SSE. We are so grateful for our generous community!
With appreciation,
SSE PTO 💙

Over the past two weeks, we collected donations for the two Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota houses right here in Sioux Falls. After meeting with RMHC Volunteer Coordinator Samantha Dixon to learn what families need most, our Lobos Leaders jumped into action — and our community rallied behind them!
Because of the generosity of our students, families, and staff, nearly 10,000 items were donated! From toothbrushes and toothpaste to juice boxes and cereal cups, every single item will help provide comfort and care to families staying at RMHC.
We wrapped up our drive during Friday’s Kindness Celebration with some special guests who reminded us of the power of kindness in our schools and beyond:
Kevin Miles, CEO of RMHC
Dr. James Nold, Superintendent of Sioux Falls School District
Paul TenHaken, Mayor of Sioux Falls
Our Lobos Leaders put on an incredible celebration and reminded us all that kindness creates ripple effects far beyond our school walls. Together, we proved that when Lobos lead, our community rises. 💙✨
Join us for our upcoming Book Fair from February 24 – March 2! This is a great opportunity for students to discover new books, explore their interests, and grow their love of reading.
We can’t wait to see everyone there!

Today we celebrated our amazing k–2 students in Una Manada! One student from each grade was recognized for showing positive choices, leadership, and what it truly means to be part of our pack. We are so proud of you!

Look at the amazing generosity already pouring in for our Ronald McDonald House donation drive! Each bin represents a grade level, and thanks to our students and families, they’re filling up fast with items that will bring comfort to families when they need it most.
Thank you for spreading kindness through action—let’s keep it going!
