conference

Dear SSE Families,

Parent-Teacher Conferences are here! This is such a meaningful time for families and teachers to connect and support our students’ success. It also means some very long days (and evenings!) for our amazing teachers and staff.

Each year, our wonderful PTO provides snacks and meals during conference week to help keep our teachers fueled and feeling appreciated. We would love your help in making this possible!

If you would like to contribute, you can:

  • Send a donation via Venmo to

    @SoSoPTO

  • Drop off cash or a check at the SSE office (please label it “PTO – Conference Meals”)

No amount is too small—every contribution helps us show our teachers how much we value their time, dedication, and care for our students. A warm meal and a few extra snacks truly make a difference during these long evenings.

Thank you for partnering with us to support the incredible staff at SSE. We are so grateful for our generous community!

With appreciation,

SSE PTO 💙

Our Lobos Leaders asked… and our school community answered! 🐺💙

Over the past two weeks, we collected donations for the two Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota houses right here in Sioux Falls. After meeting with RMHC Volunteer Coordinator Samantha Dixon to learn what families need most, our Lobos Leaders jumped into action — and our community rallied behind them!

Because of the generosity of our students, families, and staff, nearly 10,000 items were donated! From toothbrushes and toothpaste to juice boxes and cereal cups, every single item will help provide comfort and care to families staying at RMHC.

We wrapped up our drive during Friday’s Kindness Celebration with some special guests who reminded us of the power of kindness in our schools and beyond:

Kevin Miles, CEO of RMHC

Dr. James Nold, Superintendent of Sioux Falls School District

Paul TenHaken, Mayor of Sioux Falls

Our Lobos Leaders put on an incredible celebration and reminded us all that kindness creates ripple effects far beyond our school walls. Together, we proved that when Lobos lead, our community rises. 💙✨

February is Kindness Month at our school!

We are excited to celebrate kindness and friendship with our students throughout the month of February.

On February 20, classrooms may hold a small, in-school Kindness or Friendship Celebration from 1:00–1:40 p.m. Teachers will share more details with families.

That afternoon, students will also participate in a Kindness Assembly, where we will welcome the Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities to accept the donations collected for our local Ronald McDonald House. We are also honored to have our superintendent, Dr. Jamie Nold, join us to help celebrate the impact of our students’ generosity.

We are proud of our school community for continuing to show compassion, generosity, and kindness toward others.

Hello Families,

We are excited to celebrate the 100th Day of School on Monday, February 2!

To help make the day extra fun, students are invited to participate by dressing up as if they are 100 years old—think gray hair, glasses, bow ties, pearls, canes, or creative outfits that show what you might look like at 100! Participation is optional, but always encouraged.

We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our students and making it a memorable day of learning and fun.

Thank you for your continued support!

Friday, January 23, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day in the Sioux Falls School District!

iPads and Chromebooks were sent home with each student earlier today. We will not have in-person learning in the schools, but students are expected to connect to their Canvas account from home for assignments and learning resources. They have practiced this at school and know what is expected of them.

Additional information for Students and Families can be found here: https://app.smore.com/n/wgz62
